Gifted and Talented Coordinator Kathy Kascewicz meets with Senator Decker to give her input on the negative impact budget cuts will have on the Gifted and Talented program in Phillips School District. The state imposed revenue caps mean that Phillips will cut two gifted and talented aides for next year.

Senator Decker and members of the media are welcomed into the classroom of Brent Edwards, sixth-grade teacher at Phillips Middle School. Senator Decker was able to see the current class size and what it will be next year under the budget constraints imposed by the state.
